Simon's back on hosting duties with Vici this week joined by Tom Radonic, a local Perth ultra runner fresh off his recent challenge “Mund Everest” - comprising of 42 laps of Australia's toughest parkrun course Mundy Regional Park parkrun (210km and the equivalent elevation of Mount Everest). The challenge was in honour of Jeff Hansen - a pillar of the trail and parkrun community who very sadly passed away from Leukemia. Tom has already raised an incredible $13k for the Leukemia Foundation.
In local results, we had the
Pemby Trail Festival, and
the first Strive Meet of the season with Program A that included the 400m and 1500m
We find out whether we can run as fast as Adam Kopp, whether Vici should go see Mariah Carey or run 25 laps in Cannington this Friday, we might finally hear about Jack Daniels in Vici’s verbalisations, we debate on whether a PB is real if it's not in a legitimate race, and we shout out Holly Ranson for her 24hr run and Luke Taylor running for Prem babies who are this week's weapons of WARP.

This is a bloody big episode so strap in! It’s Vici and Chris in Perth, with Simon and Narri Irvine in Melbourne recapping the marquee event (of the second half the year) in the WA Running Calendar, the Perth Running Festival and the other Australian running event this weekend, the Melbourne Marathon.
In local results, we also cover the:
WA Coastal Running Festival - Lake Goollelal
WAMC Wally Cairns Pancake Run
Bibbulman Track FKT duel between Aaron Young and Mackenzie Burgoyne.
Chris paces the 3hr15 bus at PRF, Vici almost gets arrested while on the bike cheering runners along the course, Narri completes 3 marathons in 126 days and Sandbagger Simon finally goes sub 3 running a 2:57:11… beaten to the line by a man in a beer can costume.
Will McAlinden, Bryan Bourke, Bryan Lip and Renee Ioppolo were some of the many weapons in this week’s weapons of WARP.

In episode 03, we recorded the episode live from The Running Centre on the 1st October with Nita Traeger, Kat Watt, Denzel Gould and Matt Smith joining us in person in taper week as they go through final preparations for their upcoming races at the Perth Running Festival.
Raf Baugh also joins us to discuss the mental side of running, mindset and getting the most out of yourself on race day.
This WA Running Podcast Training Series follows 4 athletes as they work toward their goals at the 2025 Perth Running Festival. The training series title pays homage to the infamous out and back along Kwinana Freeway is in our opinion the toughest segment of any road race in WA.

Chris and Vici are back on the weekly pod minus Simon as they cover the 6th annual Denmark Half Marathon to cover over the weekend just gone, the Collie River Ultra (we found the results!) and track the moving dots of Aaron Young and Mackenzie Burgoyne in midst of potentially breaking the Bibbulmun Track FKT.
Chris tries to run a 5km Time Trial, Vici has entered a last man standing event, and Simon is probably still hungover after MCing his favourite cousin’s wedding over the weekend.
We have our upcoming live show this Wednesday 1st October at The Running Centre, we have Vici’s Verbalisations (an upgrade to Simon Says) and Tom Radonic, James Collins, Shannon Burgoyne, Liam Kamudu, Suzi MacMahon and Dawn Barker are this week’s Weapons of WARP.

This week we chat to Sarah Paduano a weapon in her own right who recently ran Run Brittania, an event that covers 1,600km running the entire length of Great Britain, from Lands End in Cornwall to John O’Groats in Scotland. We find out what keeps Sarah lacing her shoes and how running has become both a way to challenge herself and a source of strength.
In local results, we cover the single result we know of Collie River Ultra, the Mighty Jarrah Trail Run, the Sunset Coast Marathon & Run Festival and the WAMC Col Junner Sprint to It Fun Run.
We have our first live show coming up on the 1st October, and Colin Dismuke, Liam Dardengo and Nancy Shaw are this week’s Weapons of WARP.

In episode 02 of our Perth Running Festival Training Series, we're joined by the self-confessed Queen of Kwinana and previous winner of the Perth Marathon Kat Watt as she prepares to return to Perth to take on the half marathon, a steppingstone to a big marathon major later this year. We're also joined by young gun Denzel Gould who has seen a huge progression in the marathon running a 2:58 at Bibra Lake Marathon earlier this year with hopes of continuing that progression at the Perth Marathon.
Finally, we're joined by specialist Shane Johnstone from Valetudo Fitness & Physio on the importance of strength and conditioning to complement your running.

We’re joined by Dubbel’s Mackenzie ‘Coach Macka’ Burgoyne as he finalises his preparations before his Bibbulman Track FKT attempt starting on the 26th September 2025.
Chris is back from his European adventures trying to emulate Vlad with his running before succumbing to another toilet story on Father’s Day. Meanwhile Simon ponders on whether he should be a sandbagger or go for it at the Melbourne Marathon in 34 days time.
In local results, we had the Ultra Series WA Light Horse Ultra down at Perry’s Paddock in Woodvale with Phoebe Hurliman and Shaun Hall taking out the 24 hour race as well as the WAMC Women’s Classic WAMC clubrooms with Elyse Durtanovich and Anna Watts taking out the 5km and 10km respectively.
Some sad thoughts regarding Simon’s only chance of a rebel voucher prize and our next community run with TRC & Puma on Wednesday 17th September.
Kiran Gurung runs 45 laps in full army gear, gas mask and a menacing dagger is this week’s weapon of WARP.
Results
Melissa Jolly & Samuel Tennant take out the 3hr race
Jodie Pearce & Jamie Oborne take out the 6hr race
Jasmin Dunlop & Coach Macka take out the 12hr race
Phoebe Hurliman & Shaun Hall take out the 24hr race
Elyse Durtanovich & Anna Watts take out the 5km & 10km WAMC Women’s Classic
